Official Opening of the Sharon Michaelson Sound Beam Room
On Thursday 2nd February, our sound beam room was officially opened by Mr and Mrs Michaelson. Bernard and Sarah Michaelson visited Brentwood, along with their family and friends and visited Cherrywood café where 6th form students proudly served home- made chocolate cakes and refreshments, before cutting the ribbon and officially opening the sound beam room.
A group of students from Class 7 presented a fabulous PowerPoint incorporating music and use of our wonderful new sound beam equipment. Our music teacher Janice, and music therapist Jez, have been working hard together to explore the wonderful opportunities this exciting equipment offers. Sound beam will undoubtedly enhance the lives and offer enrichment to our young people, as they express themselves.
We had a fantastic afternoon, and we were also thrilled to be presented with a generous cheque for Friends of Brentwood. Following the presentation, three of our students took our special visitors on a tour of school. We were incredibly proud of our students, they were wonderful ambassadors for Brentwood!
Mr and Mrs Michaelson have also donated beautiful, colourful musical wallpaper to decorate the room and a plaque on the wall in memory of their very special daughter, Sharon. We look forward to creating many happy memories with our young people as they express themselves and enjoy music. We are extremely grateful to Mr and Mrs Michaelson for their wonderful generosity and will treasure our amazing sound beam equipment.
